  1. Democracy Village was set up on the 1st of May 2010 with the cooperative efforts of several non profit groups and individuals. It is there for everyone as an open forum, a place for discussion, debate and lawful protest. All are welcome to join in this peaceful protest, and exercise their rights.
Since its initial set up on the 1st of May several other parties and individuals have added their voices to that of the people, we encourage you to add yours

We are a group of concerned citizens who have gathered on Parliament Square to let the world know that we are deeply troubled by the way our taxes and resources are wasted on illegal and inhuman wars.
There are many issues being campaigned for among us, as our beliefs are diverse. But we strive to use this public land as an open forum where any issue can be discussed. All ideas for building sustainable futures on our beautiful planet are welcomed.
We are non-violent but we actively resist any attempt to suppress our rights of assembly and free speech. We will remain here until all troops have returned from foreign soil.
We believe that big changes begin with local action, and local action begins in your own front garden. That’s why we have created this democratic, self-sufficient village directly in the front garden of the MPs who continue to ignore our ongoing environmental, social and economic concerns.
You are hereby invited to come to the Democracy Village and get involved.
THIS IS WHAT DEMOCRACY LOOKS LIKE!
The following video documents the police search of Democracy Village on the morning of the 25th May 2010 between 7am and 8.30am. This could possibly be an infringement of the people’s rights. All of the people from Democracy Village complied with the police search, though some of them did this in a non compliant manner, resulting in the police dragging the people out of the their tents with them remaining in their sleeping bags

    Come and join the fun!
Next High Court date, Monday Jun 7, 10.30 am at the High Court in the Strand.
This is a once in a lifetime experience, much much funnier than Alice in Wonderland and Monty Python rolled into one.
Witness and take part in amazing scenes as Democracy does their heads in!
    Don’t Miss it!!!!
    Scoreline so far:
    Democracy 1 Boris 0
MORE DEFENDANTS CAN STILL BE ADDED TO LIST
19 defendants have added their names (or entities) to the list at the High Court, but the MORE THE MERRIER!
YOU TOO CAN STAND UP AND DEFEND THE DEMOCRACY VILLAGE.
To add your name to the list of defendants, contact:
    Bindmans on 020 7833 4433
It is still possible to become a defendant of Democracy. You do not need to live on the Village, you can say I have/will visit the village and I want to defend my right to be on Parliament Square for reason…(whatever reason you feel…including being a homeless person who has no particular interest in the Afghan war, or being a tourist who likes the scenery and is inspired to set up a Democracy Village back home). The longer our list of defendants, the more complicated the categories of named persons, persons unknown, and persons semi-known or only vaguely known, the more difficult it will be to arrive at judgements any time soon! Every particular category needs to be adjudged on its own merits, so USE YOUR IMAGINATIONS!
    YAY! Imagination IZ seizing power!
